I am sitting in the Doctor’s office looking at the cart I have to use since my surgery. It is so dull and bland and I think why couldn’t they make them look more fun with color and streamers and lights? Alright maybe not streamers but lights and color would be fun!
In fact isn’t it sad we forget to honor the inner child in all of us? The inner you that knows to look at life as if it were brand new and exciting instead of with weariness. Getting in touch with that part of you can be so uplifting and freeing! Wouldn’t that feel amazing?!
Too many are scared to act playful or find the humor in every day. Nowadays most rush around only concerned about getting things done. We forget to notice each other or smile at one another for that matter. We were not meant to live life so seriously. Life is meant to be enjoyed. We should be looking at it with curiosity like a child and how to make the most of each day.
I have been helping my Dad a lot since he has moved into the nursing home. One of the most important things I have learned is how to have fun and laugh. From telling jokes to making funny faces, or allowing us to throw women’s hats on him at the mall. Or how about belting out a tune when you feel like it? We could all take lessons from him.
Try to greet each day as if it were the first time and go out and smile at that stranger, see the shapes in the clouds, dance in your car, belt out that song in the shower. Feel how it uplifts you? I promise you, your energy will be contagious. Now isn’t that FUN to spread that happiness around?!
